Food & Beverage Merchandisers

If you sell chilled or frozen foods, an attractive merchandiser is a must for boosting sales. Available in refrigerated and freezer models, these units keep perishable packaged foods at safe temperatures. All merchandisers are fronted in clear glass so customers can easily see their contents. Modern LED lighting lasts longer, radiates far less heat than fluorescent bulbs, saves energy, and creates a brighter, more appealing display to help increase impulse sales.

Refrigerators vs merchandisers

Glass-door refrigerators and merchandisers may be hard to tell apart, but they are not the same thing. A commercial reach-in refrigerator is designed to hold both closed food products (e.g., milk cartons) and open food products (e.g., food pans). Merchandisers do not have to meet the same strict “safe zone” requirements of refrigerators, and it is against health regulations in most jurisdictions to store open food products or containers in a merchandiser.

Sliding or hinged doors?

Many merchandiser lines offer options for hinged or sliding doors. While the choice may ultimately depend on available space and the width of your aisles, be aware that sliding doors usually mean less energy efficiency because they do not seal as tightly as hinged doors.

Food vs. flowers
